Hotel and hospitality

In a full room guests have to shout at their own table. Hard floors and bare walls look good in a photograph and sound bad in person. A stretch ceiling with acoustic perforation calms the sound in the room.

The noise first

An acoustic sheet removes the reverberation without visible panels hanging from the ceiling. The guest notices none of it, except that a conversation at the table works again.

At De Huyskamer in Gilze SPANdesign fitted gloss marbled acoustic sheet in the restaurant, gloss white in the hall and matt grey in the meeting room. A different sheet per room, to achieve something different per room.

Then the mood

Gloss makes a low room look higher. In Robert van Beckhoven's cooking studio in Oisterwijk that is exactly why a black gloss ceiling went in, with gloss white above the cooking area to reflect the working light back.

Light can sit behind the sheet. That means a room that changes mood without a single visible fitting, and a ceiling that does something different in the evening than during the day.
