Swimming pool
A pool hall reverberates, and at the same time the damp works its way into the ceiling. The sound bounces off tiles and water, and the ceiling stands in humid chlorine air day after day. A stretch ceiling with acoustic perforation stands up to both.
Damp is the first problem
The ceilings can be installed in wet and humid environments. The foil forms a vapour barrier, so the damp does not work its way into the structure above.
The finish is maintenance free and easy to clean. That matters in a room where you do not simply put up scaffolding because the ceiling needs attention.
Reverberation is the second
A pool hall is a hard room. Water, tiles and glass send back almost all of the sound, which makes talking at the poolside hard work and supervising tiring.
A perforated acoustic sheet absorbs the sound instead of reflecting it. At De Schelp pool in Bergen op Zoom the ceilings were curved as well, and the SPANdesign sheet followed that shape without losing the curve.

Can it handle damp?
Yes. The ceilings can be installed in wet and humid environments. The foil provides a vapour barrier and a decorative, maintenance-free finish in damp rooms.
What is possible acoustically?
The acoustic ceilings use a Microsorber perforation that works as sound absorption. That removes the reflections and echoes that get in the way of communication and concentration. The acoustic solution itself stays invisible, so the design stays free.
Is it easy to maintain?
Yes. Fitting and removing is simple, so you can always reach your ceiling. The stretch ceilings are easy to clean and antistatic, so they stay dust free.
Are your stretch products safe?
Yes. All our stretch products are non-toxic and free of heavy metals. They are not flammable and meet fire class B-s2-d0. Our products are also hypoallergenic.
What does modular mean?
Our stretch solutions can be taken down and put back up without limit. They combine with lighting, climate control and sprinkler systems. All our stretch products are flexible and shatterproof, are fitted at minimal depth, and are made to measure for each individual room.
What does a stretch ceiling cost, roughly?
Most projects we take on are between 20,000 and 50,000 euro, and large halls and swimming pools run to 100,000 to 250,000 euro. What your room costs depends on its area, its shape and what has to sit in the ceiling. We do not take on a project under 20,000 euro.
