A full classroom reverberates, and in the corridor everything echoes. When a room reverberates the teacher's voice goes over the top of it, and then teaching and listening are harder all day than they need to be. An acoustic ceiling from SPANdesign takes those reflections away.

Including in a building that already stands
Old school buildings rarely have a flat ceiling. At De Rooi Pannen in Tilburg the curved ceilings of the former convent chapel were clad tight with acoustic foil, and the curves stayed visible.
Installation needs very little depth and puts no extra load on the existing structure.

Common questions about this room
What is possible acoustically?
The acoustic ceilings use a Microsorber perforation that works as sound absorption. That removes the reflections and echoes that get in the way of communication and concentration. The acoustic solution itself stays invisible, so the design stays free.
Are your stretch products safe?
Yes. All our stretch products are non-toxic and free of heavy metals. They are not flammable and meet fire class B-s2-d0. Our products are also hypoallergenic.
Is it easy to maintain?
Yes. Fitting and removing is simple, so you can always reach your ceiling. The stretch ceilings are easy to clean and antistatic, so they stay dust free.
How stable is it?
SPANdesign stretched products suit spanning larger surfaces. No extra load is placed on the existing structure, and the elastic, lightweight material returns to its original state after deformation.
How large can a single sheet be?
Up to roughly 50 m² we make a ceiling from one sheet. Larger surfaces are divided into panels. All foils are available with different perforations, and all our products have been tested by TNO to fire class 1.
What does a stretch ceiling cost, roughly?
Most projects we take on are between 20,000 and 50,000 euro, and large halls and swimming pools run to 100,000 to 250,000 euro. What your room costs depends on its area, its shape and what has to sit in the ceiling. We do not take on a project under 20,000 euro.
